Spring at Mulligan's Retreat

It is amazing the difference a month makes in the mountains of southwestern Virginia.  The snow has melted and the pastures are turning greener with every daffodil that blooms. I had the unique opportunity of touring Cross Creek Farm in Alleghany County, North Carolina where Colette Nester and her family humanely raise farm animals for food.  Hopefully, during the adult horse camps, we will be serving mostly local, sustainable foods from the region. Check out their website for more details about the farm and about this wonderful family http://www.crosscreekfarmnc.com/index.html. Here are some pictures that were taken during Easter weekend to give us hope that warm spring and summer weather is coming soon.

  1. Warm coastal weather and blankets of bugs have me looking forward to a mountain get away. There is little that I enjoy more than helping horses and their people reach their goals of helping one another through life and Mulligan's retreat is the perfect opportunity! Melissa
